Terms Entered in Search Tools
When you type a name, location, or other detail into a search tool, the query is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Macon County Released Inmates does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider processes the request under its separate privacy practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or submit a contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share those communications outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law, court process, or another valid legal demand.
Details Recorded During Visits
Like most websites, our systems and service providers receive routine technical information when a page loads. That information can include:
- The Internet Protocol address used for the visit
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies help us and our providers understand how visitors use the site. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may change how certain search, preference, advertising, or measurement features behave.

Links may lead to Macon County release records, Sheriff resources, Georgia Department of Corrections services, government portals, and outside search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of information. We do not control those separate systems.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based advertisements. That tracking occurs on the provider's systems and is governed by its policies, not this notice.

We do not sell personal information. Data may be transmitted or disclosed to the following parties when needed for the stated purpose:
- Search partners that process a query you submit
- Analytics providers that measure visits and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Safeguards and Their Limits
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information in our care. No website, network, or internet transmission can be made completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, unauthorized access, or data loss will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or young person believes a minor submitted personal data, contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted.
Choices About Your Data
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Erase personal information where deletion is required or permitted
- Stop or opt out of certain processing where that right applies
